Zompire Apocalypse RPG

By | March 29, 2013

There’s a new online RPG shuffling our way, and it looks like it could be a hell of a lot of fun.

Zompire Apocalypse is set in 2057 after a disease created zombie/vampire hybrids to plague the living. Now, there are only three groups left alive – and you can play as a member of one of them!

I’ve always quite liked these huge, mutual roleplaying games. I’m not sure about joining this one myself – I think it’d take too much dedication and time for me, but if you have the spare time and you’re interested in being part of a massive tumblr roleplay, you should probably check it out. I quite like the idea of a Zompire Apocalypse.

Wait, what’s a tumblr rpg?

Effectively, it is a roleplaying game played on tumblr. Unlike most common online rpgs, these take the form of you creating a tumblr account for your character, following the other characters tumblr accounts, and responding to their posts in character. It’s addictive and fun, and is often followed by hundreds or even thousands of people. It’ a great way to practice writing skills, or to be part of a huge rpg community if you live somewhere without much in the way of gamers.

Often, the tumblr roleplayers post reaction gifs or art of what is happening in the stories.

With Zompire Apocalypse, you would be playing one of the characters in these three factions, and working the story out between you. Here is a list of characters.

Zompire Apocalypse is currently auditioning for new blogs and characters, so this is a great chance to get in on the ground floor. And if you aren’t into playing, but you are into watching, simply follow these blogs.

If you do get involved, let me know – I plan to follow all these blogs and if it takes off I may even report on the activity therein.
